Adele has cancelled her last two concerts in London after suffering damaged vocal cords and it is unclear if she would ever go on tour again.
She took to Instagram to deliver the message to fans on Friday with a full explanation. Even though she’s been on steroids and medication to help her voice, doctors have advised her not to continue with the last two shows at Wembley.
Adele’s vocal chords have a history of giving her grief. Back in 2011 she had surgery on them to remove a polyp.
This sad development comes after she performed at Wembley Stadium on two consecutive nights(June 28 and 29). Variety reports that about a 100,000 people were expected for the two shows, and that she inserted a note in the tour program handed out to fans, hinting that she may never go on tour again.
The singer had been on tour since 2016, performing at different venues all over the world including North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. She has performed at 121 shows.
In her Instagram note, the singer said she considered ‘miming’ for the last two shows slated for July 1 and 2 at the Wembley but couldn’t possibly do it.
Now, she’s apologising and says she may make refunds if reschedules are not made.
