Arsene Wenger says the reason why he has benched Alexis Sanchez for Arsenal’s clash
with Liverpool is because he wants more aerial threat at Anfield.

Danny Welbeck replaces Sanchez on Arsenal’s left flank, Alex Iwobi moves into a central role, while Olivier Giroud spearheads Wenger’s attack.
‘We’re going with Giroud and Welbeck up front because we will need to be a bit more direct and strong in the air,’ Wenger told BT
Sport.
‘Sanchez will certainly play a part in the game.’
A win for Arsenal at Anfield would seem them leapfrog Manchester City into third place.
