Colombia president, Juan Manuel Santos has been awarded the 2016 Nobel Peace prize. Santos was recognized for his efforts to end the 52 years of war with FARC rebels in his country.

Jeannette Kahindo Bindu – a DRC group working with survivors of S3cual violence; Russian activist Svetlana Gannushkina; the people who negotiated the Iranian nuclear deal; whistleblower Edward Snowden; and Greek islanders who work to help refugees when they arrive from perilous journeys across the Mediterranean.
